Keys for the Kingdom is a non-profit organization created for the music ministry of Jeff Bennett. Playing solo piano concerts, teaching master classes to church instrumentalists and performing with the four-piano spectacular A Festival of Keyboards! keeps Jeff increasingly busy. The magnitude of this ministry is unlimited and the needs for church musicians are great.
The mission statement of this ministry is to further the Kingdom of Christ by providing piano concerts and teaching music ministry skills to the local church.
The following objectives further define the mission of the ministry:
To provide concerts to churches
The purpose of these concerts is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through music. These concerts are performed at local churches across the United States.
To Teach keyboard classes to church instrumentalists on improving playing skills
This serves to equip the pianist and organist with better playing abilities, so as to accompany the choir, play for a soloist and improve congregational singing. Keyboard Master Class Topics include:
- Ways to Improve Sight Reading
- Using existing piano arrangements and choral pieces for creative introductions, segues and key changes
- Learning to Transpose...at sight!
- Ways to sound more contemporary in your playing
- Conquering new fangled chords and rhythms
- Rediscovering Your Call: a Biblical approach to your Calling
- Introduction to Finale (music writing software)
A master class of teaching keyboard skills can be incorporated with some concert dates.
To teach music ministry skills to church music staff
Skills such as choral conducting and music ministry management will be taught.
